At Kitchener, we believe in taking the learning outdoors. Fresh air and unstructured time to play is important for children’s physical and social development. Living on the west coast means that we often have rainy weather.
Students will be playing and connecting with peers for at least 45 minutes each day rain or shine. Students are better able to learn and play in the outdoors when they are prepared for the weather.
Please ensure that your child is dressed for the weather every day (ie. boots, rain gear hats/hoods, gloves, warm clothes for cooler days and sunscreen, hats and closed toe shoes for sunny weather, etc). We encourage all students to bring a change of clothes to leave at school in case their clothes get wet.
