We are pleased to announce that Kitchener Elementary has transitioned from the MyEducation BC (MyEd) Student Portal to the Family Portal.
As such we have already created parent/caregiver accounts for the Family Portal. These accounts will provide parents and caregivers with secure access to important educational information about their child, including learning updates (report cards), attendance records, and demographic details.
Previously, you may have accessed report cards through the Student Portal using your child’s account login information. If you have another child currently enrolled in a Burnaby high school, you should already have a parent/caregiver account, which you can now use to access your child’s information.
Benefits of the MyEd Family Portal Parent Accounts
- Easy Access to Learning Updates (Report Cards): Parents/Caregivers can quickly and conveniently view their child’s report card.
- Enhanced Privacy and Security: Learning Updates (Report Cards) and other information are stored on a secure web server, eliminating for paper copies or email distribution.
- Update Expired or Forgotten Passwords: Parents/Caregivers can reset or change their password themselves if it is forgotten or expired.
- Forgotten login ID: Parents/Caregivers can retrieve their login ID themselves if it is forgotten
Getting an Account
If you don’t already have a parent/caregiver account to the Family Portal, you will or have already received an email from the school with login details, (The MyEd system will generate and email out the login ID) including a username and temporary password. To ensure you receive this email, please add sysadmin@myeducation.gov.bc.ca to your email address book to prevent it from being flagged as spam. (Check your junk/spam/promotions folder in case you don’t receive it, otherwise follow up by contacting the school office).

To Access the MyEducation BC System:
- Visit https://myeducation.gov.bc.ca/aspen/logon.do
- Ensure popups are enabled on your browser.
- Your username will generally be your first and last name (e.g., johnsmith).
- Your temporary password will be system-generated.
