Hello Kitchener Elementary Families,
We are excited to announce that Kitchener Elementary will be participating in the 2026 Vancouver Sun Run! The Vancouver Sun Run is an annual event with a 10k and 2.5k Mini Sun Run race that happens every April. This year the Sun Run will take place on Sunday, April 19th, 2026.
Participants in the SunRype Youth Team Challenge can be made up of runners, joggers, walkers or wheelchair participants. Anyone can join our Kitchener Hawks team (students, staff, friends, or family). Youth team members can register for the in-person or virtual race and either in the main 10K or the EVA AIR 2.5K Mini Sun Run. Please visit https://www.vancouversunrun.com/youth-team-challenge/

Youth (<18yrs old): 2.5K/10K
Start Line Special Pricing – Oct 1 to Oct 31, 2025: $25
Early Bird Pricing – Nov 1, 2025 to Feb 6, 2026: $30
Regular Pricing – Feb 7, 2026 to Mar 13, 2026: $40
Adults (19yrs old+): 2.5K/10K
Start Line Special Pricing – Oct 1 to Oct 31, 2025: $40

EVENT DETAILS:
This is an optional weekend event, not a school field trip
Parents are responsibe for and must arrange for chaperone supervision for their child during the event, either:
Accompanying their child themselves, or
Coordinating with another responsible adult
Parents are responsible for arranging transportation for their child to and from the event
