June 18 – Hawks Book Swap – Recycle a Book, Find a New Favourite!

Dear Kitchener Families,

We are excited to announce our School-Wide Hawks Book Swap – a fun way to promote literacy, sustainability, and the joy of sharing books with others!

In the weeks leading up to summer break, we invite students to bring in one gently used book from home that they no longer need. In return, they’ll have the chance to choose a different “new-to-them” book to take home and enjoy during the summer break.

How it Works:

  • Students can bring in one gently used book in good condition (no ripped pages or major damage)
  • Books should be in good condition – no rips, tears, or missing pages, and suitable for school-aged children
  • For every book brought in, students will receive one ticket to use on Book Swap Day. Students are welcome to bring more than one book, but a maximum of 5 tickets will be given.

Book Collection Dates: Mon, June 9th to Fri, June 13th

Book Swap Day: Wed, June 18th

This is a wonderful opportunity to “recycle” well-loved books, encourage summer reading, and build a strong reading community across our school!

Thank you for your support in making this a fun and meaningful event for all students.
