Hallowe’en Safety and Festivities

Dear Kitchener families,

With Hallowe’en around the corner, I wanted to advise families of the following safety information.

Students are permitted to wear a Halloween costume on Tuesday, October 31. However, masks that offend or scare other students including our younger ones are NOT permitted. Weapons (of any kind) are also NOT permitted. Please refer to the attached and/or our school district website for details on the guidelines.

We will have a short assembly at 9:15AM and a Costume Parade after recess. Teachers may have a combination of class activities for the rest of the school day.

It is also important to note that safety is always our primary concern. If your children are trick or treating in the neighbourhoods to please make sure they are going with friends or family. Younger children should be accompanied by an adult or family member. It is an exciting time for students at the school and we hope everyone enjoys their activities.

Lastly, for our new families, there are two wonderful community events in Burnaby.

Hastings Business Association has a great trick or treat event October 31st in the early evening. Also, Amazing Brentwood has trick or treating during the same time.

Sincerely,

Mr. D. Klarich
